What do I do with my Crystals?

If you are new to crystals this may be one of the first questions that you ask.  Clearly the most obvious thing you can do with your crystals is simply to display them and enjoy their beauty.  However, there are other options.  Crystals have been in and out of favour over the centuries but use in healing has once again become more prominent.

Some types of crystal are well known scientifically to have particular properties such as quartz which has a piezoelectric effect and was and still is used in radio receivers.  This piezoelectrical property was first discovered in 1880 by Pierre and Jacques Curie.  Others crystals, such as pyrite and galena are also used in radio receivers because of their ability to transduce electromagnetic radio impulses back into sound.

It is not such a leap of faith, therefore, to consider that crystals may have other properties.  Everything that is in existence has a frequency at which it vibrates and crystals are no different.  The chemical composition of each crystal including its colour means that each one has a different energy within it which can be utilised.

The easiest thing to do with your crystals is to carry them in your pocket or in a pouch or in a piece of jewellery.  If you keep your ‘carrying’ crystals together in a bowl you can select whichever ones you feel you need each day and swop them over as you feel best.

Crystals can be used in meditation.  You can either simply hold the crystal while you meditate or you can use the crystal as a focus for meditation.

You can also use them to increase dreamtime or help you to remember your dreams.  A particularly good crystal for this is prehnite.  The crystal can kept by your bed or tucked into the pillow.  Smoother stones are best for this.

In crystal healing the crystals can be placed on an around the body in order to realign energies.  Some people use a variety of different crystals for this whilst others only work with clear quartz.

Another popular use of crystals is in gridding.  This is the creating of a grid of crystals in particular formations for a specific purpose such as raising the frequency of energy in a room.

Crystals can also be used, either alone or in combination with herbs, to create elixirs or gem essences or with aromatherapy oils.

If you have acquired larger pieces of crystal these can be used to enhance the energy of entire rooms as well as being beautiful additions to you décor.
