This formation has an inclined parallelogram formation leaning either to the left or to the right.  It can be used as an activation crystal to balance the left and right sides of the brain or either the left or right activation quartz used to activate their respective sides of the brain.

As a time link the left leaning version is linked to the past and meditating with this crystal can help connect with the Akashic records to identify information from the past that is relevant to the present time and to bring this information forward.  In the case of the right leaning version this is the future link and can in the same way connect to possible future options and enable choices to be made. 

Viewed as a portal the left leaning parallelogram links to beings or lifetimes relating to technological and scientific innovations that can help with our development the right leaning one links to those who can help with emotional healing and intuition.

This formation occurs in clear quartz but also in other quartz e.g. rose quartz and also in other stones such as corundum (star sapphire and star ruby).  This formation exhibits a star-shaped light on the surface.

It can be used to connect with star beings or receive information from the stars.  It can also be viewed as the wheel of fortune and help in determining the best options.

These crystals are quartz points which are wholly or partly covered with small crystals.  The main crystal is considered to be the ‘old soul’ and holder of information which it can impart to the smaller crystals.  Useful in situations where team work is needed. 

These crystals are technically quartz after Beta quartz and are in the form of a hexagonal dipyramid – a pairing of opposing six sided pyramids, and the crystals lack prism faces.  This is a high vibrational stone useful in meditation to help understand your dreams and in healing used to help rejuvenation.

This formation consists of a larger crystal with a smaller one partially in and partially outside the main one.  It is useful in any situation of two perspectives such as your inner and outer self or yourself and others.  Bridge crystals are also helpful for those who are working on spiritual or metaphysical matters and particularly for those who are trying to transmit their knowledge and findings to others.  It is also said to be helpful for those recovering from surgery or other puncture type injuries.

This formation comprises a main crystal with elestial base area giving the appearance of wax dripping down a candle.  It can be used to illuminate and dispel the shadows within oneself or the environment.

Carved quartz has a triangular face carved (naturally) on them which normally appears white edged.  This is a formation for contact with extra-terrestrial information to assist both with personal development and to benefit the world at large.

Cathedral (describing the shape) or Lightbrary (describing the function) crystals form as one main crystal surrounded by smaller crystals that all merge into one.  They can help you reach the Akashic records.

You can identify a channelling quartz by the large seven-sided face on the front of the crystal and a triangular face on the immediately opposite face.  This crystal can be used to gain clarity in meditation or to gain answers to questions.  Also if used in conjunction with a record keeper it can help gain access to stored information.

Clusters can range in size from very small to extremely large and groups of crystals in a cluster.  Such formations are helpful in group work or placed in environments where there are groups of people working etc.  They can also be placed on the fuse box in your home to dissipate the electrical output.

This formation is an indentation in the quartz where another crystal was attached but is no longer there.  Where the indentation has 3 or 6 sides and gets narrower as it goes into the crystal it becomes a key crystal.  They can be used to help with grief or loss either for yourself or placed around the heart in a crystal healing for the same purpose.

Cross quartz are created when two crystals grow together with one growing across the other forming a cross.  It can be used to remove other-worldly implants.  The cross quartz will clear and activate all the chakras very effectively.

Crystal balls are often used for scrying.  Their shape means that energy is released in all directions and they are, therefore, useful when this attribute is required for instance within gridding or to spread energy throughout a space.

As the name suggests this formation is where the shape of the crystal is curved.  It can be helpful in seeing the deeper meanings of a situation.  Also it is an excellent stone to clear the aura.

All crystals contain the energy of their own diva but within some crystals you can see shapes that form that devic being perhaps an angel or other such being.

Dolphin crystals are formed with one larger crystal and a smaller one appears on its back.  Often the smaller crystal is double terminated. These are excellent crystals for spiritual teachers to support them in working with their students.

Double terminated crystals have points at both ends.  They are able to transmit energy from both ends or either end at the same time.  These are protective stones and also can support patience and perseverance.

Earth keepers have only been known for a comparatively short time.  These are massive crystals some 5 to 7 feet in length that have been mined from deep in the earth.  They hold ancient memory of the earth and also of the stars from which their original essence came.  When mined they are inactive but once all have been found and activated they will be able to release information to the world to aid in our evolvement.  These are rare crystals which are very clear inside.

The Elestial quartz has natural terminations over body and face. It is useful in helping you to recognise that there are a number of stages within life and to ease transitions through these changes.  It can also aid communication and verbalisation of emotions.  Elestials can be used to help overcome emotional burdens looking inside to see that love has always been there.  You can use an elestial to release blocked information.

These crystals are ones that have been damaged. Many Congo citrines fall into this category.  Damaged crystals that are empathic warriors hold energy to assist with repairing damaged relationships or where you feel wounded in any way emotionally, physically, mentally or spiritually.

Enhydro crystals have small pockets within them that have a tiny amount of fluid in them which you can see as you move the crystal. These help to support your belief in yourself and the ability to achieve what you want to achieve.

Etched quartz is identified by abrasions on the surface of the crystal.  These are natural marks and not damage.  These crystals can access healing information from the past and conscious direction can access information from ancient civilisations such as Lemuria who worked with crystals for healing.

ET crystals have a point as normal on one end the other end comprises multiple points.  Often this is as a result of the crystal being self-healed and multiple points started to grow.  This can be a very powerful healing tool with the energy being transmitted through the multiple points to send healing to a wider area and at higher frequencies.

Faden quartz are mainly tabular in form and are recognised by white thread like formations running down through them in perpendicular line.  The healing supported by this crystal relates to healing broken bones and torn muscles and also issues with the nervous system.  It is also excellent for use in grids to areas of the earth that are disturbed.

These are small clusters of small fine crystals which are quite delicate and easily broken so need to be handled carefully.  As the crystals point in every direction the light energy can be used to radiate out into a room.

Fenster quartz are excellent crystals to use for spiritual development. Fenster comes from the German word for window and the windows exhibited in this crystal can be utilised in meditation.  Moving through the windows can enable connection to different dimensions and allow you to determine your life purpose. It is a very powerful stone to aid development of clairvoyance.

This formation is identified by all six faces of the quartz point meeting at the point with no sides being askew.  Whether these are natural generator points or crystal cut into that shape the energy properties remain the same.  These are the most effective energy generators and can be used in the centre of a room to assist in group work or in gridding.  It can also be used to rectify localised energy disruptions.

Geodes are the matrix in which crystals form.  They range in size from tiny to enormous and geodes can contain clear quartz, amethyst, galena and many other crystals.  Most are sold already cut in half or otherwise opened but some can be purchased opened but with both halves of the complete geode. You can also purchase small ones to crack open yourself. The properties of a geodes are similar to those of clusters as they are essentially groups of crystals together.  Larger ones placed in a room can help to maintain positive energies in that space.

This crystal has a large eight-sided main face.  It can be used to help develop a stronger link to Gaia and also for personal grounding and looking at things from a more grounded perspective.

These crystals look rather like they have been carved into as a result of another mineral forming with them and creating these shapes and then that mineral dissolves away.  They can be used to help move through any traumas and are also useful for connection to the higher realms.  If you are self-limiting through doubt, then this crystal can help you to see that you can achieve anything you want if you let go of those doubts.

This formation has a five-sided main face and the two top faces are longer than the two bottom ones.  It is useful in working with healing emotional issues.  Healers may find them beneficial in helping to prevent them taking other people’s issues onto themselves.  Isis is a very feminine formation.

Japan law twins are contact-twin crystals which have formed almost at right-angles.  There are two presentations of this either like a ‘V’ shape or a butterfly shape.  They are excellent for clearing the auric field and bringing all the levels of the physical and energetic bodies into balance.

See crater quartz above.  Key formations narrow as they go into the crystal.  As the name suggests this formation can provide the means to unlock healing concepts and find things that are proving illusive and holding you up from moving forward.

These crystals are identified by being long slender crystals with small faces at the termination.  The shape provides for very directed energy and so is good for beaming energy into blocked areas or to create protective barriers.

These crystals form with striations along the face and are commonly clear quartz although other colours are now being found.  They can be used in meditation to connect with information about the ancient civilisation of Lemuria (aka Mu).  They are powerful healing crystals particularly for emotional issues.

Lineated crystals have parallel raised or indented rectilinear structures on the face or sides.  It can be used for spiritual journeying and to enhance business or working relationships.

Manifestation crystals are small crystals which are completely inside a larger crystal.  As the name suggests it can be used to focus your intent to manifest your desires.  It is important to be a clear channel and have a clear picture of what it is that you are wanting to manifest.  You can use a number of different techniques in conjunction with these crystals to manifest things.  However, these are quite rare crystal formations.

This type of quartz forms in a mass only exceptionally rarely as a prismatic crystal.  It contains a small amount of a number of other minerals and fibre optic like fine strands.

Such formations are characterised by a larger main crystal with a small crystal closely attached.  They can be used to help to start a family or a new project.  Another use is that of working on your inner child and dealing with any damage to restore joy and balance.

Overcoat crystals are ones where a clear crystal is covered in a white or light-coloured mineral which can be felt if you run your fingers over the surface.  The crystals, therefore, appear slightly opaque.  They are useful if you feel dis-empowered and for those who feel dominated by others to connect back to your personal power.

These crystals have a ghostly shape within them, often mirroring the shape of the crystal itself.  There can be more than one phantom and they can comprise different minerals. The phantoms form during the different growth stages of the crystal. They can be used to connect with higher knowledge and also past lives.  The different minerals within the phantoms can have different uses.  The quartz in each case magnifies the properties of the included mineral(s).

The minerals that can cause a black phantom include carbon, hematite and manganese.  These crystals are excellent for grounding and centering.

The minerals in this phantom may rarely be blue tourmaline but more usually any other blue mineral.  The colour dictates that it is useful for issues relating to the throat and helping you to speak your truth.

Chlorite phantoms are excellent and powerful healing crystals.  Chlorite is a very beneficial healing crystal itself and combined with the magnifying properties of the quartz has amplified abilities.

Minerals such as prasiolite and actinolite can create green phantoms.  In similar vein to chlorite phantoms, green phantoms are healing stones and also aid recovery from illness.

Orange phantoms form with the orange minerals that can include carnelian, limonite and hematite.  This formation can help to lessen addictive behaviours and to find your true self

Hematite and kaolinite combine in this formation to create a pink phantom that can range from pale to dark pink.  Melody describes this as the ‘stone for restoration’ of the link between self and ‘all that is’.  It can also help to let go of old patterns of behaviour that no longer serve you.

Hematite is also the mineral that creates the red phantom.  It is a calming stone that creates tranquillity and can help to let go of anger and frustration.

White phantoms can be created by a range of white minerals including kaolinite  This crystal is very helpful in meditation and can help you relax so that you can meditate for long periods of time.

Yellow phantoms are formed by limonite.  They can be used to help bring clarity of mind and the ability to release unwanted thoughts.

Rainbows in quartz are formed by fracture inside the crystal which refract light creating a rainbow.  You can use these to help dispel negativity and to bring a rainbow of light into your life.

Record keepers are identified by one or more raised or sunken triangles on the face(s) of the crystal.  These crystals hold wisdom and you need to connect with the crystal in order to access that wisdom.  Raised record keepers are more common than sunken ones.  Sunken record keepers are said to have been programmed in the past and will hold information relevant to those who programmed it but only by the soul (possibly from a past life) responsible for the programming.

These crystals are formed with a crystal penetrated by a rod (they are natural formations).  This formation can be used to direct the energy to reach the heart of whatever you are working on i.e energy, the cell etc.

Seer stones (often sold as dragon eggs) are river polished stones that create an opaque surface with one area polished to be clear.  They can, therefore, be used for gazing particularly to gain information of ancient civilisations when the intent is appropriately focussed.

There are two types of self-healed crystal.  The first form occurs when the crystal has been separated from its base and continues to grow exhibiting numerous small points on the ‘broken’ end.  The second formation occurs when the crystal has been broken and the break has regrown and repaired.  These crystals can be used to transmit the ability the heal the self.

Quartz does not always form in crystals but can also appear in flat layers which can vary in how clear it is.  This formation can also be used for gazing particularly to be able to look at a situation in great detail.

This formation has a large flat face with a square end.  It can encourage the accumulation of knowledge throughout life.  In addition, it can aid in releasing self-limiting habits.

This formation comprises laser wand shaped crystals which when gentle allowed to touch each other emit a clear ringing note.  They can be used to clear energy blockages and stimulate clairaudience and clairsentience.

The spade formation is similar to the shovel but has a pointed end rather than a blunt flat termination.  This formation is helpful in astral travel to move through the various planes of existence.

As the name suggests this formation is typified by a twisted shape throughout the body of the crystal.  It can be used draw down universal energy to help you remain grounded during meditation.

These formations consist of a single point with numerous small crystals around the base and some way up the sides of the point.  The smaller crystals are all set at roughly 90 degrees to the main point.  They are helpful for those experiencing loss and also for group cohesiveness.

Spirit guardians are two double terminated points attached alongside each other both roughly the same size.  They remind us that we are never alone and can strengthen connections to spirit and our guides.

These crystals are flat crystals which have striations on one or both of the wider flat sides.  Rubbing your finger up the crystal along the striations opens or unlocks the knowledge contained within and reversing the motion closes it again.

This formation is that of a larger crystal with a group of smaller ones around the base.  Use these crystals in teaching situations or other group environments where knowledge is being shared.

Trans-channelling crystals has a specific formation of faces creating a 7-3-7-3-7-3 configuration.  In other words there are alternating faces with seven and three sides to them.  The qualities are a combination of transmitter and channelling formations and in addition it can be used to connect the user with the ‘All that is’.

The five has one face with five sides to the main face.  The top two sides forming a sharp fairly narrow triangle with a flat bottom to the face and two short either side joining up the face.  It can be used to remove bad luck and to determine the reasons for the situation to exist so that it can be dealt with.  It is also considered to be a stone of the current age in Mayan thinking.

Tibetan quartz is to be carried ‘ in a sack on the back of a yak’ from  Tibet to China for distribution.  These crystals carry a high frequency of OM energy said to originate from the fact that they come from one side where it is believed that other-worldly beings have landed in the distant past.  These crystals can be found in any of the various formations.

Transmitters are formed by two seven sided faces with a perfectly triangular face between them.  They can be used to connect with higher wisdom to obtain answers.  When phrases the question, however, ensure that you have both been very clear in what you are asking and also that you are prepared to receive the answers.

Trigger crystal formations have a small crystal growing from the side of the main one.  The activation process is to squeeze the smaller crystal.  They are particularly useful when directed towards healing a particular issue.

This formation is a record keeper that has inverted (upside down) triangles on the face of the crystal. They can be used in meditation to connect with the highest realms and also to gain a clearer view of the future.  Very experienced healers can use these in soul retrieval.

Twin crystals are two crystals that have grown together from a common base.  TANTRIC TWIN formations contain crystals that are similar in size and the crystals are parallel to each other.  These crystals can be used to work on relationships and in particular to learn that love also means freedom.

This formation has a diamond shaped face near the top of the crystal with one line connecting it to the point.  They are very helpful in progressing your personal spiritual growth and can also be used to gaze in through the window to look deeper within yourself.

These are laser type crystals which have muscovite blade inclusions and also may have a little iron, calcite, feldspar or zircon.  As such they combine the properties of all the constituent parts.  They also are useful in helping you to ‘dare to be different’ to be yourself with fear of ridicule or rejection.

Aura quartz are formed by coating quartz with a very thin layer of a variety of other minerals such as gold, platinum and titanium to provide a coloured coating.  The process involves heating the crystal to be coated to around 1600 degrees F in a vacuum chamber and injecting into the chamber a vapour of the material being used for the coating.  This enables the coating mineral to bond permanently with the crystal and create a range of aura quartz types.  Each aura type has the properties of the quartz (or other crystal being coated) and the coating together with additional properties for each type of aura quartz and also any specific quartz formation.

Aqua aura is coated in gold creating a clear sky-blue coating.  Thus is an excellent stone for opening the throat chakra and also aids opening to channel.  It is also a very calming stone.

Champagne aura is made with a mixture of gold and indium in the coating.  It is a useful crystal for grounding spiritually.

This aura form is coated in a mixture of titanium and niobium and shimmers in colours that link to the violet and gold rays of energy.  Carrying this aura can help you to be able to ‘read’ people.  If consciously directed it can be used both to help you find the right direction to take or to see ways to maintain homeostasis.

This aura is an opaque gold created by coating with gold.  It is the energy of manifestation and provides the courage and the knowledge to make it happen. 

The metals used for this aura are not confirmed but believed to be gold and nickel. (this will be updated when better information is available).  This is a stone of joyfulness and is useful as a mood improver.

Indigo aura is coated with a mixture of gold and iridium giving a deep violet/blue colour.  It is, therefore, useful as a third eye stone for meditation and for connection with the higher realms.  Past lives can also be connected to with this stone.

This aura is created by coating with a mixture of iron, titanium and other trace metals.  It links the heart and solar plexus and provides assistance in stopping self-sabotage.

Opal aura is coated with pure platinum.  The opalescent colour in conjunction with the quartz provides a high frequency energy that is beneficial in balancing all the chakras and cleanse the aura.

There seem to be two colours that are referred to as rose aura.  One is a more red colour and the other is a pale pink rather more like a more pink opal aura.  This description relates to the pale colour and the darker one included under ruby aura.  The pale rose aura is likely to be a combination of platinum and gold and possibly silver.  It is higher heart chakra connection linking to universal love.  It is helpful in dealing with lack of self-worth.

This aura is a combination of gold and silver creating a ruby red colour.  It cleanses the base chakra of any issues relating to survival and also is protective in respect of aggression or violence.  It is helpful in dealing with release of the effects of physical abuse particularly for children.

Sunshine aura is created using a mixture of gold and silver.  It has a lovely bright and joyful feeling.  This crystal can be used to help heal old hurts and traumas.  It is also useful in healing a disappointment in life in general or a feeling of lack of opportunities.

This aura is created with a blend of gold and indium which results in a coating close to the colour of tanzanite.  It links to the third eye and crown chakras.  It has a soothing effect and aids bringing all levels of the body into balance.

Golden healer crystals are naturally coated quartz.  The golden coloured coating is transparent and can wholly or partly cover the crystal.  You can use this crystal to help in accurately recalling pictures.  It is also useful for healing on all levels and for contact with the spiritual worlds.

This type of quartz has hematite inclusions in the form of red dots or stings of dots.  It links the chakras to the energy of the Earth Star, base and heart chakras.  It is protective and helps you feel safe in the 3d world.  It instils balance and energy.

This formation is formed using high energy electron radiation of metamorphosis quartz.  It results in a golden-green crystal.  There is no residual radiation following the gamma irradiation so there is no problem handling the crystal.  It does not need cleansing or energising.  It can help actualisation of prosperity and in the acquisition of information of benefit for the future.

Red quartz is coloured due to the presence of hematite and iron throughout the crystal.  This is a good grounding stone and also supports increased physical energy.

This is by no means and exhaustive list but here are some of the inclusions that can occur in and on quartz.  Where the mineral is in the form of crystals contained within the quartz the properties of the manifestation quartz also applies.

Quartz with epidote can form with the epidote mixed into the quartz and/or as crystals in, partially in and around the quartz.  This combination can be used as an Oracle to ask questions in the full knowledge that you will receive the answers you seek.  It is an excellent healing stone which also is helpful in providing a diagnostic energy.

Fluorite too can form within the quartz or as octahedrons inside the crystal.  It can be used to remove confusion in your life on every level and every aspect.  It can also help you to find the ‘right’ answers.

Lithium included quartz contains only a small amount of lithium but in combination the energy of the crystal is greater than the sum of the two parts.  It is a very calming stone that had been used in gridding in respect of areas of unrest.

Pyrite in quartz is a manifestation quartz.  It is also said to be one of the ‘Grand formations’ used by the Lemurians.

This configuration relates to the shape of the inclusion (the snowball) rather than being linked to a particular mineral being included.  They appear in clear quartz but can also form in amethyst and citrine.  They can be a variety of colours dependent upon which mineral is present.  This formation is peaceful and healing and can help you get to the centre of whatever is at issue to find the best way to heal.

Star quartz contains randomly place ‘stars’ of black hollandite.  It works with all the chakras and the Soul Star allowing the highest frequencies of light to flow through the body.  Therefore, it is an excellent stone to work with to connect to your higher self and for work in relation to your life purpose.

This is an interesting combination as in theory it should not be possible.  It is identifiable from the smell of the sulphur if you strike the crystal it gives off the aroma (in the rough form).  It has been used for protection from ET visitations.  Sulphur included quartz has also been used to instil devotion both to other people and causes and also to stipulate passion.

Tourmaline is included in quartz as included or embedded crystals.  All the colours of tourmaline can be found included in quartz.  This formation is useful in helping to release negative patterns which are ingrained in a solving environment.
