This formation has been tested to be the oldest crystal gemstone in the world (to date) it is said to have formed at the time that the first signs of life appeared.
It is also sometimes called “A New Stone of the New Consciousness” due to the large number of different minerals that can be within the formation. There are deemed to be 23 minerals in this material - Titanite, Cacoxenite, Lepidocrosite, Ajoite, Hematite, Magnetite, Pyrite, Goethite, Pyrolusite, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Nickel, Copper, Iron, Limonite, Sphalerite, Covellite, Chalcopyrite, Gialite, Epidote, Bornite and Rutile. However, it is in the larger specimens that you willl find pieces that have all of these included. Smaller pieces are likely to appear to be largely amethyst often with hematite red tips.
