Zuni Fetish animals

Zuni Fetish Animals are sacred items to the Native Americans.  Although mostly made by the Zuni other Tribes do also make these carvings.  There are a number of families of carvers who are greatly revered in respect of their skill.  The fetish animal is considered to embody the spirit of the animal and can be used for a number of purposes that use the traits of that animal.
