Aura quartz

Aura quartz  has many forms.  Pieces of quartz (or other minerals) are coated in a very thin coating of gold, silver, platinum, titanium and other minerals or mixtures of minerals that create a coloured opalescent permanent coating.  The process is vapour deposition in heated vacuum.
