Akashic Lines run at right angles to the crystal giving it an almost finely striped appearance. They are common on Lemurian crystals and help access the knowledge stored in the Akashic realms. This may be accessed during meditation by gently rubbing the faces with the lines on.
Stepped Akashic Lines indicate to me that the piece is an ET communication device and the stepping relates to stepping the vibrational frequency up and down during the communication process.
Barnacle crystals are those covered or partially covered with smaller crystals. The large crystal is the teacher or 'old soul' attracting the smaller 'student' crystals Ideal for community or group work. May be useful in helping to overcome loss of a loved one.
Bridge or Penetrator Crystal - A crystal that has a smaller crystal that either penetrates and/or is lodged partially into the crystal with the other part protruding from the crystal is called a Bridge crystal. It is believed this crystal is helpful when a person is striving to work with various aspects of spirituality or to heal childhood issues blocking growth. This is the ultimate spiritual teacher's crystal.
A seven sided face is known as a Channelling face and can be used to access information from both inner and outer realms. In particular it furthers contact with individual entities from other realms which carry information of value to us or those we know.
Curved quartz, according to Melody in her book Love is in the Earth, provides for a continuous alignment of the physical meridians, the nervous system, and the alignment of the physical, emotional, mental, etheric, astral etc bodies, singularly and with each other.
Double terminated quartz crystals allow energies to flow in both directions. Dow or Trans Channelling Quartz has three 7 sided faces each adjacent and opposite to a 3 sided face. Also known as 737373 formation. It combines the qualities of the transmitter and the channelling quartz. Trans Channelling quartz create a connection between the holder and 'All That Is'.
Dune veils are light wispy veils in clear crystals that have the appearance of stars in a galaxy. I feel they help up remember and access our extraterrestrial connections, aiding communication between the worlds.
Elestial quartz is said to be especially useful in healing emotional problems, providing balance between heart and mind. Elestial quartz is also said to impart wisdom and to enhance insight, and to be an excellent transformational tool helping one to understand and adjust to change. It is also said to be of significant assistance during meditation. Each of these stepping stones is thought to be a storage device that the crystal uses to “remember” earth frequencies throughout its existence.
An Enhydro is a pocket of water which was trapped during the crystal's growth and which is visible to the naked eye. Often an air bubble within the water pocket can be seen to move like the bubble in a spirit level. Enhydro bubbles unite the imagination with a sense of practicality. An Attachment Gateway is formed when a crystal that was previously attached has been broken off, leaving behind a doorway shaped entrance. I always think of these as representing the doorway of opportunity or understanding that is revealed after we have lost something, or someone, that we were attached to.

Nodule Quartz is a nodular formation of quartz covered in druse (smaller quartz crystals). Helps see the way more clearly through removing illusion and allowing you to view things from various perspectives in order to understand the whole. Can be used to fill in gaps in the aura.
Phantoms are result of an interruption in the growth process of the crystal which caused an outline to form within the crystal when it continued growing. At some point, millions of years ago, the crystal grew to a certain height and shape and then stopped growing because there was no longer enough mineral material to continue its growth. When new mineral material became available once again, the crystal began to grow just as it would have done originally but this time a layer of another material may have been included in the crystal, outlining where this stop and start process occurred. Phantom crystals help us to understand that growth requires the right materials and is a continual process, even if there are breaks in-between the stages of growth. They remind us that we are nurtured and protected, even when we feel alone, abandoned or lacking in resources. They help provide the patience and trust we need to remain open to the receipt of that Divine Love and generosity which surrounds us, helping us to understand that, even though we may not get what we want, we always get what we need.
Phantoms can help us trace back down our time line into past lives, adding true understanding to the meaning of the word growth. Meditating on the wispy veils of a phantom helps us see beyond that veil and the illusions that so often hold us back, to reveal our true self and our reason for being.
"Phoenix" Quartz is my own term for a type of quartz which came into my hands recently. It has similar properties to Self Healed and Curved Quartz it often contains and goes beyond the concept of self healing to show that death is a falsehood,albeit of an individual, a project or a concept. Like new green growth after a bush fire, the little Phoenix Quartz points rise from the 'ashes' of the destroyed cluster and points. They have communicated to me that they are ideal for anyone re-building their life, especially when their role in the community and relationships to others in it have been altered in a dramatic way.
Rainbow Crystal - A crystal with a rainbow inside, that is caused by light being refracted by the prismatic effect of a crack or inclusion, is called a Rainbow. It is believed that these crystals exhibit the closest manifestation of pure white light that can be witnessed on the physical plane. Rainbow crystals can bring depth and clarity to dreams, help manifest wishes, and overcome negativity. Their ability to produce the full spectrum of colour which equates to the white light of healing, makes Rainbow Quartz suitable for use on all chakras.
Record Keeper crystals can be determined by small raised or etched triangular markings. They are holders of ancient information which they allow us to access. They can help access the Akashic Realms and past life recall.
Sceptred quartz, according to Melody, were used in Atlantis and Lemuria in healing ceremonies and were a symbol of the power of the realm; carried or worn by high priests/priestesses. They focus the energies of the higher planes into healing ceremonies and focus the energy deep into the heart of the matter.
Self-healed crystals are ones which continue to grow after being broken or damaged. This re-growth may be in the form of smaller terminated faces or even complete point re-growth that reflects how the crystal was before it got broken. Complete re-growth self-healed crystals are considered the best for self-healing.
Skeletal quartz (more popularly known as Elestial Quartz or Jacare Quartz) exhibits unique internal and external dissolution-growth features resulting from unstable conditions during crystallization. These skeletal growth features occur most often in the macro crystalline quartz varieties rock crystal and smoky quartz, occurring more rarely in citrine or amethyst.
Skeletal quartz crystals often form with a geometric pattern of lines, depressions and raised terminations (related to the quartz crystal structure) etched into their surface. Internally, these crystals exhibit plainly visible cavities in geometric patterns (also related to the quartz crystal structure) which can contain clay minerals of varied colours, sometimes accompanied by carbon dioxide or water. These cavities often have a layered or ribbed aspect and are sometimes so pronounced as to make the crystal almost hollow, giving rise to the term skeletal quartz.
Occasionally these cavities contain both liquid and gas phases together known as two-phase inclusions. In rare cases, these two-phase inclusions in quartz can be visible to the unaided eye and may show actual movement of the gas phase within the liquid phase (popularly known as elestial quartz crystal 'enhydros').
Tabby crystals contain information and can be used to charge other crystals. Running a finger nail down the lines on this crystal opens it up, running the nail down the crystal closes it down.
Teacher with Student or Mother and Baby Crystals have several smaller companion crystals gathered around them. The large crystal is the teacher or 'old soul' attracting the smaller 'student' crystals in the same way that Barnacle crystals cling to an older, larger crystal. In my experience Barnacles crystals indicate general teaching or learning whereas these crystals have much more of a mentorship or 'under someone's wing' quality.
In the case of Lightbrary crystals the teacher is the crystal itself and the teacher is also a library or mountain of information. The information contained in these crystals is that of The Light, hence the name Lightbrary.

Warrior Quartz are Old Souls which have done the rounds and come out bloodied but unbowed and with a tale or two to tell. They understand about how to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. they normally have great warmth and empathy. They normally have a fair few rubs, dings, bruises or more serious wounds which, if Etched or Self Healed, add to their interest and properties.
Window Quartz have a diamond 'window' representing practicality and balance.They are powerful teachers allowing us access to inhibiting illusions and insecurities in order to overcome them.
